Tis the season to be lazy...

...yet efficient.

Last friday night, I had a show at the Coop space, called In-Between Days, which was a success. The punch was a hit, the food was a hit, the photos apparently were the biggest hit. People I knew and didn't know stopped by, hung out, bought multiple raffle tickets, got drunk with me, and gave me tons of hugs - my ears were warm with wonderful comments about my work. Jocelyn, who works with the Coop won a print, she chose:

I'm on a Mission. 28/52

My cousin Juan (whom we call Junior) and his wonderful wife Magaly got the book. Which you can now buy through Lulu. You can see a short preview with foreword by Stephanie Bassos, about the author notes(me) and the introduction (such small font so you'll have to buy it to read it or get a loop) where I explain the purpose of self-portraiture in my life. The book includes photographs from the past, as well as from my 52 self-portraiture project, outtakes and inspiring notes, poems by me, and my favorite inspiring authors. The idea of publishing the book was inspired by bloggers.

Not sure how I did it but I'm sure that I have a ton to be grateful to my very good friends, specifically my boyfriend who is the handy man that helped me wrangle my perfectly framed images, and drill holes into concrete walls.

Thanks to Leblon for providing plenty of booze to get everyone utterly inebriated. The coop, Sam Rosen and Jocelyn Schwartz for being awesome.

It was also very nice to meet potential travel buddies and film makers.

I got all my photo-editing done from last weekend's wedding. Now I have all the time in the world and I guess this is the beginning of my long vacation until I get back from Guatemala in February. Oh what to do with all this time??

Actually, I have a few shoots in January and I'm excited because I have a space, and now I've got an awesome team with me (Assistants and Make-up artist) whom I will be hiring from time to time.

Bloggers and Flickr friends, thank you as well.

Happy Holidays and prosperous 2011!

xo,
Wendy
