fluids trapped in the sky

My best friend Maurin arrives to my house around 9:30 a.m. She helps me with the camping tent and my brain hurricane, llc mug filled with coffee. I pick the rest of my luggage that is actually more than I originally anticipated. I make sure I take all the photo gear that I know I will be using.: tripod, flash, cable release, sekonic light meter, battery charger, and a TTL Cord, just in case. My bag is filled mostly with a pillow and grooming supplies that I absolutely can live without, a couple of shorts, cropped jeans, skinny dark jeans, tank tops, summer dress, and a hoodie for the sake of being prepared for the weather (I wasn't fully prepared).

I check-in and my flight is delayed. Meanwhile I write this:

"Chicago – July 22, 2008 11:27 a.m.

My flight is delayed. I am sitting here in front of the gate, waiting…. I’m waiting. I have the camera in my backpack but I’m not sure if I should take it out and shoot something. I’m looking for a photo but I can’t find it.
Across me, a girl waiting green pants and a tshirt that reads “Be good to your mama” with an earth globe shaped as a heart.
I am drinking a mango smoothie and I receive a text message, most likely from Josh. I should pick up my phone and read it but instead I write here. The smoothie is delicious but it makes me cold, it's cold here... the AC is way high."

I did take out my camera and I shot one single frame of an old lady knitting, a man reading in the background a busy room full of passengers waiting to board their delayed flight, that includes me.

We board just about 20 minutes late and I get a good sit next to a window thanks to Josh, he checked-in online for me 22 hours prior to my flight. Alas, two young fashionable and loud african-american teenagers sat next to me. I take out my iPod and the noise problem is fixed. I didn't eat breakfast so I take in the snacks and order a Sprite. Both of the kids fall to sleep after an hour and I have to do #1. I am stuck. My bladder was trapped in the air. I waited an hour, two hours and one of them finally wake up. I finally get to release myself, phew!

My flying trip has a great ending, the one that I had been looking forward for about a month. The coolest man I've ever known is waiting for me by the baggage claim and he is as handsome as I remember... tall, and now tanned from his working trip in PerĂº. We kiss like the very first time, without words we stand in front of each other and he holds my face in his hands, caressing my lips with a sealing kiss of "i missed you so much". An adventure is about to begin with my traveling cameraman.
