slide film gems

I miss shooting film sometimes. I miss the noise of my F90X, and how beautifully wide my 20mm used to look through the viewfinder. I miss taking up a little slide into the sky or a bright window and seeing these beautiful colors from slices of life that had been captured just days before, it gave me such a high. My friend James Liu gave me a brick of film last weekend. I just met James recently at the New Wave Coffee, while the local logan square Roller Derby girls had their fundraising event - they were giving out free PBRs, cupcakes and my buddy Leo Rosen had his beautiful reflective composites displayed on the wall. It was the same day I met Shyvone Shy Blunt, whom I'm now collaborating on a couple of documentary stories in the city of Chicago. I love photography, and I love how these little events can lead to bigger stories, and life longtime friends.
